U.S. Health & Human Serv.

Quantum developed the controls and a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for Fort Apache Indian Reservation’s water department. The project was under the direct supervision of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and was designed to filter river water and distribute it to a community that was on a verge of a water shortage. Quantum was given two months to design four panels and deliver the basic controls and interface to perform a factory acceptance test (FAT) on four PLCs, one OIT and SCADA system. Upon completion of the system Quantum deployed controls to pump water 5,000 feet up hill to two filters that can filter fresh river water at rate of 600 to 1400GPM.

Whiteriver, AZ
Mining

A mining firm hired Quantum for PLS, fiber and radio telemetry design.

FMI - Chino
City of Phoenix

The City of Phoenix contracted Quantum to perform an audit and analysis of the 91st Ave Wastewater Treatment plant Instrumentation and Controls. In that project, Quantum made recommendations in ways to improve various systems that would yield short term return on project investments. Quantum has also been awarded a large JOC contract in partnership with Filanc. Various ongoing City of Phoenix support contracts have also been won by Quantum over the years.

City of Avondale

City of Avondale contracted Quantum to design, implement, and deploy various Modicon PLCs to automate their water and waste water I&C. Quantum helped City of Avondale revise and develop programming standards for their SCADA system. Wonderware’s ArchestrA software was used to deploy and upgrade City of Avondale’s SCADA and alarm systems. Quantum deployed an e-mail and text message alarm system to replace Avondale’s unstable SCADAlarm.

City of Avondale
City of Flagstaff

Flagstaff’s Wastewater Treatment Plant at Wildcat was upgraded from an archaic mimic panel single loop control scheme to a totally integrated, state of the art SCADA control system. During their latest expansion, Quantum took on the task of upgrading and modernizing a running plant and delivered a bumpless transfer to the new SCADA technology. The Lake Mary Waste Treatment site in Flagstaff was also awarded to Quantum. That project included PLC software upgrades and licensing.
City of Tucson

Quantum has worked in cooperation with the City of Tucson to replace the entire controls system that fuels Tucson’s Mass Transit system with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). System control includes CNG Compression, Cooling, Storage, Delivery and Fill Station for approximately 56 Ramada Kiosks. During the system upgrade, remote access was added to the long list of capabilities afforded to City Employees. Tucson was upgraded to the latest technology available in HMI SCADA and PLC functionality.

City of Tucson - CNG
Mining

Quantum Integrated Solutions developed a complete 24 Fiber, 12 Pair, ADSS fiber network. This network design included calculations for SAG and TENSION at each pole span location and system drop. This self-supporting 62.5 micron Single Mode network design is approximately 5 miles in length delivering network communications to numerous well pump stations and booster pump stations within the property of a copper mine. The entire network incorporated both the Fiber backbone as well as CAT-6 drops to the individual control apparatus. Quantum developed the design for the inclusion of CISCO media converters at each drop. The overall scheme included interface to the plant DCS system controllers via interface to their existing plant network controllers.

FMI Bagdad - Fiber Network Design
City of Chandler

Quantum was selected to develop the I&C aspect of Chandler’s odor control system. Quantum developed the PLC and SCADA application code for the odor control system. This project included providing calibration, startup, installation and control system integration of all instrumentation.
City of Surprise

Quantum developed the I&C system for the City of Surprise and implemented this design with Intellution’s SCADA package, Rockwell PLC’s and Panelview. Quantum engineers developed all the software and integrated the MDS spread spectrum radios. MDS radios were used to communicate between two remote well sites and two water booster plants.

SUMCO Corporation

Quantum was contracted by SUMCO to upgrade their existing industrial WWT design and process. Quantum implemented a new SCADA system with new PLCs and instrumentation.
Freescale Semiconductor

Freescale contracted Quantum to do a cost analysis and process upgrade of the industrial WWT process. This project entailed the monitoring of effluent water into the municipal wastewater treatment stream. All data was reported into the plant’s DCS monitoring system. Quantum preformed the CAD design and fabrication of instrumention panels. Additionally, Quantum developed and deloyed software implementation of new PLCs.
Microchip

Quantum provided a complete installation SCADA process and A-B PLC upgrade of the CUB and clean rooms process. The upgraded system incorporated new PLC and SCADA/instruments in this industrial process, in addition to panel fabrication and CAD design.

City of Goodyear

Quantum designed and implemented an automated system to control a well pump and to remove arsenic from the City of Goodyear’s water. Numerous three-phase valves were automated to allow for simple removal of arsenic from the city’s water. An automated backwash sequence to rinse the arsenic removal media was developed which automatically configures valves and shuts down numerous pumps without any operator assistance. The city’s well site is not occupied at all times of the day which required an automated security program. This security program was developed to alert operators that an intrusion or proximity sensor has been tripped.

Kachina Village

Quantum has helped Kachina Village dramatically cut their operations costs by developing highly automated processes for Kachina Village’s water and waste water facilities. Quantum has designed and installed various instrumentations, PLCs and control panels. Additionally Quantum has designed and deployed PLC code and SCADA software. Terrain and vegetation makeup on Kachina Village’s facilities have plagued them with a communication problems. Quantum has helped solve Kachina Village’s communication problems by perform radio surveys and developing a wireless radio topology. Quantum has deployed and integrated numerous radio topologies for Kachina Village Utilities.
