About the Role
In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and system integrators to develop, modify, and support PLC and HMI applications for municipal, industrial, and critical infrastructure projects. You'll contribute throughout the project lifecycle. From programming and testing to startup and commissioning, while continuing to expand your technical knowledge and hands-on experience.

What You'll Do
Develop, modify, and maintain PLC and HMI applications.
Assist with project development from design through commissioning.
Perform testing, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning activities.
Prepare technical reports, testing plans, commissioning procedures, and project documentation.
Work directly with clients to understand project objectives and deliver practical automation solutions.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
Diagnose and resolve programming and control system issues during service calls.
Collaborate with engineers, system integrators, and clients to deliver successful projects.
Continue developing your technical expertise while working with leading industrial automation platforms.

Equivalent education, technical training, or relevant experience
Technical Experience
Experience with one or more of the following technologies is preferred:
2–5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or a related field preferred
Recent graduates with relevant internships, co-op experience, or hands-on automation projects are encouraged to apply
PLC programming (Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 / Logix Designer preferred)
HMI or SCADA development (FactoryTalk View, AVEVA System Platform, or Ignition)
Schneider Electric Control Expert (Unity Pro)
Industrial networking fundamentals
Skills & Qualifications
Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems
Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control documentation
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Willingness to travel occasionally for startup, commissioning, and client support (less than 10%)
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with AVEVA System Platform
Experience with industrial Ethernet networking
Startup and commissioning experience
Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP
